Why water-cooling matters for cigars

A standard compressor cabinet cools by blowing air over a cold metal coil, which pulls moisture out of the air and makes humidity swing. Raching's MON series puts the evaporator in water and cools through it, which Raching says avoids frost and the sharp dry-out after each cooling cycle. Humidity is held to ±1% in the 60-75% range.

Spanish cedar inside

Shelves, trays and the interior liner are Spanish cedar, the wood most cigar makers use for boxes: it handles moisture well and adds a light cedar note over time.

Who it's for, and who it isn't

A good fit if you keep 2,000-4,000 cigars, run a home lounge, or want a single statement cabinet instead of two smaller ones. Check the space: it is 27 inches wide, 27.6 inches deep and 73.4 inches tall, and weighs about 289 lb. Consider another model if you keep under 1,500 cigars (MON2800A).
