How we estimate real capacity

This humidor: about 1,000 cigars in boxes, or 1,100 mixed singles (label: 1,200).

Labels assume corona-size cigars stored loose. Bigger cigars and boxes take more room.

  • In boxes: we use the manufacturer's low end, or about 60% of the label.
  • Mixed singles: we use the middle of their range, or about 80%.

It's an estimate; your number depends on what you smoke. A simple rule: buy about twice the capacity you need today.

A 1,200-cigar electric humidor that controls temperature and humidity

The Raching MON1800A is a mid-height electric cigar cabinet with water-cooling, digital humidity control and a Spanish cedar interior. It holds 1,000-1,200 cigars on 5 cedar shelves and fits a standard 24-inch wide space. Not sure it's the right size? Call (985) 531-8513 and we'll tell you honestly.

At a glance

  • Holds 1,000-1,200 cigars on 5 Spanish cedar shelves
  • Cools and humidifies: 16-22°C (61-72°F), 60-75% humidity ±1%
  • Water-cooling system for steady humidity
  • Optional ammonia removal unit: filters the ammonia that young or unaged cigars give off, so the cabinet air stays clean. Choose "With" if you buy fresh boxes or age cigars.
  • Black or golden burl-wood finish

Why buy it from CubanVault

  • A real person helps you choose. Call (985) 531-8513 and we'll tell you honestly whether this is the right size for your collection and your room.
  • Ships from the US. In-stock units ship new from Raching's US warehouses (New Jersey or California), usually within 2 business days of the order, by FedEx or CEVA freight. We confirm stock and your delivery date within 1 business day of your order. If your model or finish is not in US stock, we tell you the wait before anything ships, and you can cancel for a full refund.
  • Freight damage handled. Check the cabinet when it arrives. If anything is damaged, send us photos of the box and the unit within 24 hours of delivery and we file the claim with Raching and the carrier.
  • Help after delivery. Setup questions, settings, or a warranty claim under the 2-year cabinet / 6-year compressor warranty: you call us, and we deal with Raching.

Why water-cooling matters for cigars

A standard compressor cabinet cools by blowing air over a cold metal coil, which pulls moisture out of the air and makes humidity swing. Raching's MON series puts the evaporator in water and cools through it, which Raching says avoids frost and the sharp dry-out after each cooling cycle. Humidity is held to ±1% in the 60-75% range.

Spanish cedar inside

Shelves, trays and the interior liner are Spanish cedar, the wood most cigar makers use for boxes: it handles moisture well and adds a light cedar note over time.

Who it's for, and who it isn't

A good fit if you keep 600-1,200 cigars, live somewhere warm or dry, and want a cabinet that holds 70%/68°F year-round without Boveda packs or refilling. Consider a larger model if you buy by the box: collections grow, and the MON2800A or MON3800A costs little more per cigar.
